Shops created for women, by women open at The Shops at Wailea
Wailea, Maui, Hawaii (June 12, 2007) – Fashion-conscious women now have three more excellent reasons to frequent The Shops at Wailea. Sisters & Co. Boutique & Salon, FiFi and Bootzie Boutique, and BCBGMAXAZRIA recently opened, adding to the premier retail mix in this Wailea resort shopping center. Walk into any one of the three new shops and you’ll see it’s pretty much all about being feminine – although the full-service salon at Sisters & Co. welcomes men too.
Sisters & Co. Boutique and Salon arrived at The Shops at Wailea in mid-May. A local business that began five years ago with the opening of their shop in Kihei, this is truly a family enterprise, with four sisters and mom pitching in when needed. Sister Linda Lauther handles the daily operations and business, Rhonda Krynsen is the sought-after hairstylist, Sharon Jahns offers fashion-buying expertise (with frequent input from mom June), and Caroline Johnston specializes in nails and beauty advice. “Don’t ask me to balance the books, but I can pick out the best lip color for anyone!” laughs Caroline.
It’s obvious these four are having the time of their lives, and the good feeling emanates throughout the shop and salon. “It was always our dream to expand the salon to have the whole family involved and now it has come true at The Shops at Wailea,” says Linda. “Our Kihei location isn’t quite spacious enough to offer a full-service salon,” continues Caroline. “Our new salon will even accommodate bridal parties.” Caroline plans to offer a different specialty salon manicure/pedicure each month; this month’s feature is a lavender pedicure.
The Sisters & Co. Boutique features clothing, jewelry and accessories from designers such as Butterfly Dropout, Da Nang, XCVI, Michael Stars, and “the most comfortable denim jeans you’ll ever slip into”, by Chip & Pepper. Other featured products are Kokoru hand-poured soy candles, Chi nail and styling products, and an amazing at-home Foot Buffer from Pedi-Scrub that cleanses, exfoliates, massages and moisturizes with Lavender-Tea Tree Oil, leaving those “beach feet” feeling wonderfully smooth. Sisters & Co. Boutique & Salon is located upstairs in the center, right next to Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
On the lower level, Fifi and Bootzie Boutique is the latest brainchild from the owners of Enchantress Boutique, and is conveniently located right next door. Fifi (Judith Maurice) and Bootzie (Britta Alexandra) have an insatiable appetite for beautiful things, and they simply did not have enough room in The Enchantress to display all their incredible finds. So they opened Fifi and Bootzie Boutique, with the focus on providing an array of carefully chosen accessories to complement the lovely clothing you’ll find in Enchantress. Between the two shops, they now represent over 600 designers, including Betsy Johnson and Beverly Feldman shoes & handbags, Mary Francis evening bags, and fragrant candles by Seda France (featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things).
“Fifi and Bootzie Boutique is something you have to experience to really appreciate,” says Britta. “We’ve designed it to feel more like a spacious gallery, with a gorgeous chandelier and Italian gold lounging couch & chairs. We are most excited about the fact that we have more space where our customers can relax and take it all in.” You’ll find “Accessories that Rock”, exquisite gifts, luxurious bath & body products, unique home dÈcor, and exclusive lines of designer resort wear at Fifi and Bootzie Boutique. They will happily ship your treasures to locations all over the world.
BCBGMAXAZRIA may not have been started by a woman – Max Azria is the designer’s name – but with a wife and five daughters, you know he has plenty of female input in his styles. What does BCBG stand for, you probably wonder? It was named by his wife, Lubova, for the French phrase bon chic, bon genre – Parisian slang for “good style, good attitude.” BCBGMAXAZRIA features a full collection of trend-setting yet wearable looks that take today's modern women from day to night, work to weekend. Azria launched BCBG in 1989 and now has over 340 boutiques worldwide. This is the first BCBGMAXAZRIA on Maui, located across from Fendi in the East Wing of The Shops at Wailea.
