The Shops at Wailea participate in Earth Day 2008, Hawaiian Style
In an ongoing effort to “go green”, The Shops at Wailea will support Earth Day today by planting the native Hawaiian Ohi`a Lehua, demonstrating their dedication to a healthy, sustainable environment. The indigenous red-blossom tree will find a new home in a garden on the lower plaza level. A sign will also be posted near the Ohi`a Lehua, noting its significance.

Surf swells at The Shops at Wailea
With the recent expansion of two well-known surf brands to the island’s south side, The Shops at Wailea has completed what is unofficially referred to at Maui’s premier resort shopping destination as “surf central.” Roxy and Quiksilver each opened new locations in the center of the lower level of The Shops at Wailea in late November. Joining existing merchants Pac Sun, Billabong, Honolua Surf. Co., Honolua Wahine, and Maui Waterwear, all located in one wing, Roxy and Quiksilver now round out the surf and sand selection of stores for visitors and locals who want the coolest surf brands for fun and sun.
